As an Indianapolis engagement photographer, I had the pleasure of documenting one of the most adorable and memorable sessions to date. From the picturesque streets of downtown Fortville to the serene beauty of Flat Fork Creek Park, every moment was filled with joy and authenticity.
Downtown Fortville served as the perfect backdrop for our adventure, with its quaint charm and vibrant atmosphere. Amidst the bustling streets and historic architecture, our couple, Maddy and Nick, radiated love and excitement. And adding to the magic was their furry friend, a playful yellow lab puppy named Mosby who joined us later at the park.
Mosby stole the show with his wagging tail and playful antics, bringing an extra dose of happiness to every shot. As an Indianapolis engagement photographer, capturing genuine moments is always my priority, and the bond between Maddy, Nick, and Mosby was truly heartwarming.
After exploring the hidden gems of downtown Fortville, we headed to Flat Fork Creek Park in Fishers for the second part of our session. Nestled amidst nature's beauty, the park provided a serene setting for our couple to unwind and enjoy quality time with Mosby.
As the golden hour approached, the soft glow of the setting sun cast a magical spell over the park, creating a dreamy backdrop for our photos. Maddy and Nick shared tender moments together, their love shining brightly in every frame. And with Mosby by their side, their happiness was contagious.
Throughout the session, I focused on capturing the authentic connection between Maddy, Nick, and Mosby, allowing their personalities to shine through in every photograph. As an Indianapolis engagement photographer, my goal is to create timeless images that tell a story and evoke emotion.
From the charming streets to the tranquil beauty of Flat Fork Creek Park, every moment was filled with love, laughter, and puppy kisses. Tell me the story of how you two met?
We met in high school! We started off as friends, and started dating at the end of senior year! Though we went to different colleges (IU & Wisconsin), we never truly lost touch, and rekindled our relationship in 2020 when Nick was starting law school and Indy and Maddy moved back to Indiana to start a nursing program!
Tell us about your first date!
Our first “date” was in Nick’s basement our senior year of high school. We watched How I Met Your Mother and ordered McAlisters! Now we have a puppy named Mosby after Ted Mosby!
Where will you be getting married and what made you choose your venue?
We’re getting married at the Mill Top in Noblesville! We picked that space because we loved the industrial feel, and the staff were/are absolutely wonderful!
What were some things you were nervous about going into your engagement session?
We were nervous about how much direction we’d be given-neither of us are photo people at all!
Are either of you "not photo people"?
No, not at all! But both of us embraced it and had fun with the session! It wasn’t awkward at all!
During your session, talk about how your photographer directed you etc during your session. Was that helpful to you to feel less akward etc?
Cody was amazing with directing us with poses, and we truly didn’t feel awkward at all…even when Nick’s parents were there with us so our puppy could be in some of the photos! Cody told us exactly how to pose, and all of his directions were incredibly easy to follow!
What is your biggest piece of advice to couples getting ready for their engagement session?
Have fun with it, and bring a couple outfit options if you’re unsure of what to wear-Cody will help direct you with what looks good! It’s only awkward if you make it awkward!
