Indianapolis Engagement & Wedding Photographer | Kendall & Brian's Engagement Session | An Indianapolis Canal Walk Engagement Session

Over the past month we’ve been putting the finishing touches on plans for Kendall & Brian’s wedding next month, but not before we had an opportunity to get their engagement session in with us on a very hot and steamy evening in late July!

All of our Indianapolis wedding photography packages include a complimentary engagement session. We love doing this for all of our couples so we can have an opportunity to work together before wedding day, get to know some basic poses and get comfortable being in front of the camera!

Tell me the story of how you two met?

We started dating our sophomore year or high school. We went to a pretty small high school, so we knew of each other before officially meeting. Our paths did not really cross, though, until we got placed in the same group for a school community service project at Gleaners Food Bank. I remember Brian making me laugh the entire time and my cheeks hurting from smiling so much! Our group also packed the most meal boxes, so it was an early sign that we make a pretty good team (and that we are very competitive)!

Tell us about your first date!

Our first date was to the Indianapolis Zoo on my birthday, where we had to get dropped-off because we couldn’t drive yet!

Tell us your about your upcoming wedding day. Where will you be getting married and what made you choose your venue?

We are getting married at St. Monica Catholic Church (Brian's Church growing up). And then the reception is at the Columbia Club. We have been going to the Tree Lighting there for years, so it seemed like the perfect spot.

What were some things you were nervous about going into your engagement session?

I think we were both a little nervous going in just because we have never done any kind of professional photos before, so we weren't really sure what to expect.

Are either of you "not photo people"? Did that change after your session at all?

Neither of us are really "photo people". We actually get teased for always forgetting to take pictures together at events! But Cody made us super comfortable and we had a great time!

During your session, talk about how your photographer directed you etc during your session. Was that helpful to you to feel less akward etc?

Cody did a great job making us feel comfortable, and I feel like that showed in the photos we got back. Cody would ask us questions during the session like "Who is the messier one?" which of course led to laughing by us (and some funny pictures).

What is your biggest piece of advice to couples getting ready for their engagement session?

My biggest piece of advice would be to just relax and trust your photographer.

Tell us about your experience working with Rogue Images Photography?

Our experience has been great! Anytime we have had questions, we have gotten quick responses. Cody has been super easy to work with and we are excited for our wedding day!
