Tell me the story of how you two met?

We met in high school! We started off as friends, and started dating at the end of senior year! Though we went to different colleges (IU & Wisconsin), we never truly lost touch, and rekindled our relationship in 2020 when Nick was starting law school and Indy and Maddy moved back to Indiana to start a nursing program!

Tell us about your first date!

Our first “date” was in Nick’s basement our senior year of high school. We watched How I Met Your Mother and ordered McAlisters! Now we have a puppy named Mosby after Ted Mosby!

Where will you be getting married and what made you choose your venue?

We’re getting married at the Mill Top in Noblesville! We picked that space because we loved the industrial feel, and the staff were/are absolutely wonderful!

What were some things you were nervous about going into your engagement session?

We were nervous about how much direction we’d be given-neither of us are photo people at all!

Are either of you "not photo people"?

No, not at all! But both of us embraced it and had fun with the session! It wasn’t awkward at all!

During your session, talk about how your photographer directed you etc during your session. Was that helpful to you to feel less akward etc?

Cody was amazing with directing us with poses, and we truly didn’t feel awkward at all…even when Nick’s parents were there with us so our puppy could be in some of the photos! Cody told us exactly how to pose, and all of his directions were incredibly easy to follow!

What is your biggest piece of advice to couples getting ready for their engagement session?

Have fun with it, and bring a couple outfit options if you’re unsure of what to wear-Cody will help direct you with what looks good! It’s only awkward if you make it awkward!

Our first date was at a brewery. And funny enough, a group of Andrew’s friends were there too and slyly messaging him and spying.

Where will you be getting married and what made you choose your venue?

We’re getting married at the Milltop in Noblesville. We loved the industrial building and many of the features such as the atrium bar.

What were some things you were nervous about going into your engagement session?

That we would both be super awkward in posing and facial expressions.

Are either of you "not photo people"? Did that change after your session at all?

We’re both not photo people. Cody coached us so well though that it gave good tips for when we do take pictures in the future.

Cody would tell one of us to make the other laugh, which made us more relaxed and have fun.

When you are working with a client and helping them to figure out where to invest their floral budget what are the key areas you recommend?

Personally, I feel there are 2-3 major items/areas that deserve the largest part of the floral budget. The first is the bridal bouquet- this is the floral item that is going to be featured the most during the day as it will be in a majority of the pictures that are taken that day so you want to make sur it is something that you love and truly a style that when you look back at your pictures in 20 years you can say you still love it. The second would be the ceremony space and some may disagree with me on this as it is the shortest part of the day but it is the most captured part of the day so again having a beautiful statement piece will just highlight an impact all those wedding photos. The third area is the head table as you don’t want to not have anything bug again it will be a highly photographed area so making sure that it still ties everything together and highlights the couple is important.

What are some trends you are seeing for florals this coming year?

I am seeing color, color and color. We are seeing a lot of couples that are focusing on more than just 2 colors this year and also looking at bolder and brighter colors. Even brides who keeping in a more neutral pallet are still having some fun tones blended in that is giving those color pallets interest and texture. We are also seeing a lot more custom dramatic installation pieces being requested and really challenging us to be fun, bold and creative so that it is unique to the couple and to the space. Last is metallics are not going anywhere and will still play a large part in the accents and details that you see being used throughout as well.

What is your favorite part of the day?

When I am doing the final walk through and see the full vision come to life. We work with our clients over months to fine tune and make sure that we are getting the details just exactly as they envision so seeing all the individual little parts and blooms come together to create the final big picture and working to make each isl unique and has those personal touches to every so its special to each couple just makes that final walk memorable
